What are lash extensions?
Lash extensions are a synthetic blend of single false eyelashes that are applied to your individual eyelashes with a professional adhesive.
How are they different from strip lashes?
Strip lashes are applied to the skin with an easily removable glue and can be applied by anyone. Strip lashes last about 24-48 hours. Lash extensions should only be applied by a professional for your lash and eye health. A full set of lash extensions will require a refill between 2-3 weeks if you wish to maintain them.
How long does a full set of lash extensions take?
2 hours including consultation time. Lash extensions are an art and cannot be rushed. We apply extensions to your individual lashes so if you see advertisements for full sets that take less than 1.5 hours, they aren’t full sets.
How long are refills?
Depending on the time frame, they last between 45 mins-1.5 hours.
Do I need a refill or full set?
You should have a minimum of 40% lash extension retention for a refill. Otherwise a full set will be required. Refills are recommended between 2-3 weeks depending on retention.
I had my lashes done elsewhere. Can I come to you for a refill?
New clients require a full removal and a full set. It is difficult to assess your lash health when you have lashes on from another professional.
What do I need to be aware of before the appointment?
Please do not be in a rush when coming to your appointment. I cannot speed up the process so it’s best to have plenty of time and relax during your appointment.
You must keep your eyes closed throughout the appointment. If you open your eyes, product or fumes may irritate your eyes leaving them red and itchy. This is of utmost importance. So, no checking your phone during the service.
Talking on the phone during the service causes your face and the eye pads to move and thus slows down the lashing process. I can quickly check your phone for you in case of emergencies but as this is a time for you to relax, limited phone usage is appreciated. Take the time to relax and enjoy a lash nap instead!
You will be given aftercare instructions that will maximize your lash retention when adhered to properly. No picking/touching lashes, don’t use products containing oil on your lashes, wash and brush them daily.
I want long luscious lashes that touch my eyebrow!
We can discuss style and shape during your consultation and assessment of your lash health. Lash health is a priority for us. It is not recommended to use extensions 3mm longer than your natural lash and this is a rule that we adhere to strictly. The last thing anyone wants are damaged lashes due to incorrect application. There are different styles and lash types that give the illusion of longer, thicker lashes so we can work with you to achieve the look you want without compromising lash health.
What’s the difference between classic, hybrid and volume lashes?
Classic lashes are single lashes applied to your individual lashes. They are most natural looking and can be applied in many different styles.
Volume lashes have a stem with several lashes (3-6) attached. They are light and great for giving a fluffy, full look. Especially useful for those with sparser lashes to fill in gaps. There are varying levels of thickness with the volume lashes.
Hybrid lashes are a mix of classic and volume lashes. They give definition and fullness and are more dramatic that classics or volumes.
Can I get a patch test as I have sensitive eyes?
Of course! Book a free patch test online!
How many lashes will I lose a day?
Naturally we lose between 2-5 of our own lashes a day so you will see the extensions fall off along with your natural lash. If you feel like you have excessive lash loss, we do offer a free fix in the first 3 days. Anything after this is not due to application / adhesive but the home care.
Please note, there are no refunds for services rendered, however we are more than happy to work with you to achieve your desired look.
If you do experience a bad reaction (which cannot be predicted by you nor I), we offer a free removal so long as you provide a doctor’s note allowing the removal.
